Objective: The Accounting Associate will be responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, posting customer payments, balancing all cash receipts, and various other transactional tasks.. The Accounting Associate must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments within minimal direction.
The Ideal Candidate will: Analyzes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner. Codes invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc. with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system. Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email. Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices. Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions Reconciles various accounts monthly, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Controller Coordinates the posting of daily customer payments whether received through mail or lockbox. Balance all cash receipts daily. Research all account manager/customer inquiries and make corrections as needed. This requires checking RedBooth (ticket tracking system) often throughout the business day and prioritizing requests based on urgency. Enter returned checks and handle customer chargebacks. Assist and manage Customer Auto draft setup and declines. Reconciles various accounts monthly, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Accounting Manager/Controller. Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department What you need: 3 Years of experience in AP/AR role or a related role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Open to change and willing to learn new skills Ability to meet deadlines Qualifications: Required - Education : High school degree or GED
Preferred - Education : Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
