We are currently seeking an Accounting Associate for our Finance/Accounting Group in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will work as part of a team primarily responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions. This individual will be the primary point of contact within the Finance/Accounting group for cash receipts. Additional assignments may include analyzing client accounts and payments, assisting during external audits and other financial tasks that will allow the department to meet its overall objectives.
You will be responsible for: You will be responsible for: Processing of accounts receivable transactions to include cash receipts, A/R adjustments and refunds. Researching unapplied cash by analyzing open invoices and A/R reports. Daily tasks to include: Process cash receipts received daily from various payment methods. Coordinate with internal and external clients for proper application of cash receipts. Monitoring of A/R email inbox to ensure quick resolution of cash application. Process A/R adjustments & refunds. Assisting the A/R collections team as needed. Vetting new payment portals Providing support documentation during outside audits as requested. You will have the following skills and qualifications: You will have the following skills and qualifications: College degree in Business Administration or Finance, or significant proven work experience in a financial area in a professional office setting. Experience and understanding of accounts receivable and the cash application process and its effect on financial controls is preferred. Strong organizational skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service Strong ability to ensure data accuracy and attention to detail. Technical skills to analyze and research cash application transactions using available accounting system information. Ability to handle a high-volume, fast paced work environment. Ability to become a subject matter expert and to train and support others accordingly. Must be flexible and a team player, with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. Ability to adhere and prioritize deadlines while multi-tasking on a variety of initiatives. Ability to work independently and liaise amongst various consulting and corporate groups within the firm. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel and Teams. Knowledge of databases and SAP sites is a plus.
