We are seeking a motivated staff accountant to join our investment accounting team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling investment portfolios, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in accounting, preferably at a bank or financial institution
Support the investment accounting team in the delivery of the operational agenda in areas such as investment securities, investments in real estate and affordable housing projects, junior subordinated debt, and borrowings Prepare daily/monthly reconciliations for investment portfolio and cash transactions including researching & resolving any discrepancies Participate in the month end close process, including the reconciliation and certification of general ledger account balances and the preparation of journal entries as needed Prepare various schedules and reports for internal and external purposes Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and banking regulatory reports, including the quarterly Call Report and FR-Y schedules Perform ad-hoc analyses and enhancement projects Perform verification on trades executed by Treasury Update pay down factors as well as principal and interest payments as received, and process market values and ratings on a recurring basis Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts At least one year of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and/or auditing experience Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well independently and on a team Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance degree preferred) CPA candidate preferred Investment accounting and/or partnership accounting experience preferred Knowledge of TPG or PeopleSoft a plus The base pay range for this position is USD $28.00/Hr. - USD $32.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
