A great opportunity! You are invited to join our dynamic Blachly-Lane Electric Co-op team as an Accountant. Our small electric utility is a collaborative, positive, laid-back workplace that offers great wages and benefit packages (such as immediate insurance coverage, 80 hours of vacation, and 100 hours of holidays each year, a 401k and DB plan). Our standard workweek of Monday – Thursday, 10-hour days allows you to have every Friday off. Tired of working too many hours on outdated systems? This full-time position reports to the Controller and spends most of the day on important tasks such as payroll, work orders, inventory accounting, miscellaneous receivables, fleet records, and bank reconciliations.
An accounting degree or professional experience is required. Prior utility industry experience, knowledge of FERC Uniform System of Accounts, or prior work experience in NISC iVue Financials Software is preferred. This position also requires demonstrated working experience with a personal computer, industry-standard software, business information systems, Office 365, and Windows. The successful applicant will also be proficient in keyboarding, 10-key by touch, and have intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
