Department Summary The University of Oregon provides an array of services and activities to help students benefit fully from education programs, as well as carry out its mission of research, teaching, and service. As a division of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Office of the Registrar is responsible for registering students, verifying enrollments, creating degree audits, articulating transfer credit, developing the Class Schedule, collecting and posting grades, maintaining academic records, issuing transcripts, and awarding degrees. These responsibilities, assignments, and services are completed within institutional policies and standards as well as related state and federal laws and regulations.
Position Summary The Academic Scheduling Specialist position is integral to the development of course information for the Class Schedule. The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of, and training for academic department preparation, submissions, and checking of the Banner class schedule data.


The class schedule is the cornerstone of the enrollment process. A correct listing of term courses leads to student registration, institution enrollment management, grade processing, and student academic history. This position also functions as a liaison between the Office of the Registrar, academic departments, Technology Services, Facilities Services, and University Scheduling in matters relating to reservation and maintenance of academic classrooms.


The person in this position is expected to work independently, maintain the academic standards of the University of Oregon, and interpret laws and policies governing these areas.


Hybrid, Remote Eligible: This position is based in Eugene with some level of flexibility including the option to work on-site, hybrid, or fully remote. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval.
Minimum Requirements Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; AND

Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures. Professional Competencies Effective communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure and with department partners and others in a professional manner. Ability to think logically and sequentially. Ability to analyze complex scheduling rules. Experience working collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds, as well as working independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience in using classroom scheduling technology such as Courseleaf and EMS. Experience using Banner or other student information systems. One year of experience as a trainer which included responsibility for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating training needs in an organization. FLSA Exempt: No
