At UMass Memorial Health, everyone is a caregiver – regardless of their title or responsibilities. Exceptional patient care, academic excellence and leading-edge research make UMass Memorial the premier health system of Central Massachusetts, and a place where we can help you build the career you deserve. We are more than 16,000 employees, working together as one health system in a relentless pursuit of healing for our patients, community and each other. And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day.

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking to hire an

Endocrinologist and Diabetologist

in the role of an

Academic Physician Leader

to join our growing service. Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologists at any stage of their career are invited to apply.

Our diverse faculty includes accomplished clinicians, physician-scientists, physician-educators, and basic scientists. Our clinical activities include patient-centered, team-based, diabetes care delivered at the Diabetes Center of Excellence at our main location in Worcester and our satellite locations at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster and Tri-River Family Health Center in Uxbridge. We have an authorized thyroid center, metabolic weight loss center, a metabolic bone center, and general endocrine services within the division. A dedicated in-patient Blood Glucose Management Service and an Endocrinology Consult Service are available to serve hospitalized patients. Our Division is comprised of 23 Faculty Members, 16 Advanced Practice Providers, 5 Fellows and 6 Certified Diabetes Care and Educational Specialists.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our division, leading initiatives to enhance clinical care, advance research, and educate the next generation of physicians. One of the main responsibilities of the position will be to supervise and teach fellows in the in-patient setting on diabetes management and commonly encountered endocrine problems. There will be limited ambulatory responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position would possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, a passion for academic medicine, and a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research. They would also demonstrate effective communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the division and the broader healthcare community.
