Description Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the full-time position of The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for the Respiratory Care (RSP) Program/Faculty Member. Full-time faculty are those persons employed to provide instruction during a regular academic year whose assigned load is a minimum of thirty (30) semester contract hours on a 9-month contract (178 duty days/beginning in August of 2024). The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for the Respiratory Care (RSP) Program/Faculty Member is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration and evaluation of the clinical portion of the RSP program and serves as faculty member for this program. The ACCE demonstrates the academic and professional qualifications and relevant experience in education requisite for providing effective leadership for the clinical component of the program.

Examples of Duties COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:
Develop and coordinate the clinical aspects of the Respiratory Care Program.
Ensure appropriate supervision and assessment of students at all clinical sites. Ensure ongoing assessment of the overall effectiveness of clinical training for all students. Maintain frequent, regular, and consistent contact with students, clinical faculty, and clinical affiliates at all program locations. Assist the Director of the program to review the RSP curriculum to assure that the curriculum meets the standards of the college, CoARC criteria, and the regional employers of respiratory therapists. Ensure congruence of RSP clinical education policies and procedures with those of the college and CoARC criteria. Work with the Program Director to ensure the student clinical exposures are coordinated with the didactic and laboratory curriculum. Contribute to the review and revision of policies for the RSP program. Review and revise the clinical education handbook, clinical affiliation agreements, and all policies and procedures associated with the clinical portion of the program on an annual basis. Collect data related to clinical education component of the program. Provide administrative support for the program including student advising, review of class schedules, staffing of clinical adjuncts, and evaluation of clinical instruction. Advise incoming, newly selected RSP students and RSP students in the program. Participate in orientation of selected RSP students to the RSP program. Maintain a database to track clinical sites placement. Determine clinical placements of students. Receive semester course evaluation for each RSP course, completed by RSP students. Consult with program director and Dean to determine any changes needed. Review clinical education student evaluation of performance with Director of the RSP Program as needed. Ensure the effectiveness of the clinical component of the program through assessment of the achievement of established learning outcomes. Contribute to completion of required CoARC reports by providing necessary data and statistics related to clinical education. Support compliance with CoARC accreditation requirements related to clinical education. Contribute to the CoARC self-study documentation as needed within accreditation cycle. Teach courses in the clinical component of the program and other RSP courses as assigned by the Dean.
Provide the program director with input into the budget process. Work with director to ensure that adequate resources are available for RSP students and program. Recommend needed equipment and supplies for the RSP program. Maintain communication with other units of the college, faculty, students, clinical agencies, and accrediting/licensing organizations as needed. Provide in-service and information regarding the clinical component of the program to clinical sites. Maintain office hours to be available for student questions. Participate in meetings of the faculty and RSP Advisory Committee. Implement approved changes as suggested by advisory committee and faculty as related to clinical education. Assist the program director in orientation of new adjunct faculty and clinical instructors (clinical site). Provide input into the development of a job description for clinical education faculty. Provide input into the development plan for clinical education faculty. Represent the RSP program in community and marketing events.
Serve when appointed to appropriate institutional committees.
FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:Provide instruction and conduct classes in accordance with the philosophy of the College and within the scope of a defined course of study.Develop curriculum and learning assessment processes.Meet all administrative timelines and complete the submission of required documents and reports.Help students in registration, advisement and coursework. Attend meetings as required.Participate in professional development activities.As assigned or elected, serve on committees and coordinate the activities of program advisory committees.Participate in the College's promotional and community services activities and engage in activities that contribute to the College's efforts to recruit and retain students. (Faculty recognize that some recruitment and retention efforts are time sensitive and that faculty recruitment and retention efforts are most effective when conducted during these time sensitive periods.)Sponsor or assist with student clubs or activities.Assist part-time faculty, instructional assistants and tutors in the faculty member's field of study.Perform such other related duties as the appropriate dean or the Provost may assign for the good of the College.Contribute to external standards of performance such as accreditation, USO Success Points, and other state mandates.Promote a professional educational environment by dressing in a manner appropriate to their disciplines, activities, and audiences, as agreed upon in notes.Conduct office hours in accordance with the Edison State Education Association Agreement.May be required to complete teaching assignments at the Edison State Piqua campus and/or at regional campuses which include the Eaton campus, Greenville campus, and Troy campus.Subject to the Edison State Education Association Agreement.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Required Experience :
The ACCE must:

Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care. Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students in such a program. Be willing to complete CoARC training for key personnel in the program. Required Educational Background and Credentials :
The ACCE must:
Have a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, Hold a current state license and credential to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The minimum starting salary for this 9-month (178 duty days/beginning in August of 2024) faculty position is $45,045.00 with the possibility of an increase to the starting salary based on experience. There will be 4 hours of release time for both fall and spring semesters to allow for coverage of the coordinator duties. Other :
