Student Management Specialist Description: As a Student Management Specialist, your role is to foster positive relationships between students, teachers, and parents through the use of restorative practices. You will support student growth and behavior improvement by implementing individual interventions. Additionally, you will contribute to school-wide systems, structures, and discipline, while serving as ambassadors for our community and believing in the potential of our students.
Job Summary: Assist the principal in administering the middle school program Act as a resource for teachers and staff regarding student attendance, development, and discipline concerns Coordinate efforts with guidance counselors, police liaison officers, school psychologists, and social workers to address student attendance and behavior issues Engage in meaningful communication with families through conferences or other communication systems to discuss student attendance and behavior Resolve student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner, documenting disciplinary or referral actions taken Maintain a safe and secure physical environment by monitoring the school grounds and promptly addressing any student vandalism Interpret school district programs related to student substance abuse and truancy, making recommendations for policy revisions Collaborate on strategies to enhance student performance, attendance, and development Assist in maintaining campus control and security through the development and implementation of effective practices Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, families, and students Help establish rules for the in-school suspension/detention room Respond to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters Participate in relevant committees and meetings as directed by the principal Take responsibility when all administrators are absent from the building Perform additional tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the principal Qualifications : Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.)
Salary: You can find detailed salary information in the Management Personnel I-M agreement on Pages 3-4, Section 1.
Work schedule: The contract length is 200 days.
Bargaining unit: This position falls under the Management Personnel I-M bargaining unit.
