Job summary
This position is the Customer Ambassador for the bank.Provides quality and efficiency to customers who prefer face-to-face interaction with the bank.Understands customer's transaction requirements and effectively communicates available options.
Responsibilities
• Provides quality customer service through courteous and accurate handling of transactions.• Processes routine transactions such as cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, and processing loan payments.• Promotes and advises on the bank's products and services.• Refers customers to the appropriate source or channel to address their needs.• Prepares cashier's checks, cash advances, and ATM balancing.• Identifies and validates customers, cashes checks, accepts cash and checks for deposit, and checks accuracy of deposit slips.• Balances assigned cash drawer and may serve as Vault Teller or Vault Teller Backup.• Ensures compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures.• Answers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and attempts to resolve issues and problems.• Develops knowledge of bank products through independent study and completes required monthly and quarterly training.• Processes various reports and completes tasks as outlined in branch procedures.• Provides a complete range of customer services, including opening new accounts, explaining financial institution products and services, and gathering customer information.• Receives deposits and ensures proper processing of accounts.• Establishes retirement accounts and arranges for direct deposits.• Completes arrangements and documents for special services, such as exchanges of foreign currency.• Prospects for new business and actively refers loans and other bank services to appropriate specialists.• Opens and closes office following established security procedures.• Represents the financial institution in community affairs and civic organizations.• Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
• High school graduate or equivalent.• One year of teller experience or relevant work experience required.• Ability to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
