Wastewater "D" Operator

Job summary
The wastewater "d" operator is responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring the plant is in safe working conditions at all times.They will keep records of all testing conducted and inform the correct individuals when any issues arise.

Responsibilities
• Maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority• Operating wastewater pretreatment systems and making necessary adjustments• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on all systems• Collecting and analyzing raw waste and performing chemical and physical analysis• Maintaining cleanliness of wastewater plant• Ensuring efficient and economical operation of wastewater treatment equipment• Completing maintenance records and maintaining operating logbooks and databases• Advising the HR Manager on the status of wastewater pretreatment equipment and systems• Working a 2nd shift or rotating shift when required• Performing duties in support of other Environmental programs• Complying with all Health & Safety requirements and goals
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED• South Carolina class "D" certification• Experience working in a physical/chemical/wastewater pretreatment plant• General computer skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office• Ability to lift/move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment• Effective communication skills• High attention to detail
