Tier Engineer

Job Title: Tier 2 Engineer Location: Rockville, MD Salary: $80k-100k Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to join our team. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of our technology stack.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement high availability solutions for our systems
- Manage and maintain Linux-based operating systems such as openSUSE and Ubuntu
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain intrusion detection systems (IDS)
- Utilize cloud services such as AWS for infrastructure management
- Configure and manage storage area networks (SAN)
- Implement load balancing techniques to optimize system performance
- Ensure efficient routing protocols are in place for network connectivity
- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks
Experience: - 4+ years of Tier 2 engineering experience
- Proven experience working as an Engineer or similar role
-Proven experience working at an MSP
-Working knowledge of non-Cisco firewall technologies - SonicWALL, Sophos, Juniper, Fortinet, WatchGuard
Engineer with two to four years experience
· Minimum 2 years experience Cisco Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support
· Minimum 2 years experience - Mobile device support Android and Apple IOS
· Minimum 2 years experience - Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support
· Minimum 2 years experience - Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
· Generates revenue to 3X W2
· Has at least one certification. The following certifications are preferred: M365 Foundations or Associate, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Project+, Network+, Security+, Apple
· Solid dependable engineer, follows directions and maximizes billing opportunities
· Consistently receives good client feedback
- Strong knowledge of Connectwise or IT Glue
- Experience with encoding technologies and video streaming protocols
- Familiarity with intrusion detection systems (IDS) and security best practices
- Proficiency in working with cloud services, particularly AWS
- Knowledge of storage area networks (SAN) and their configuration
- Understanding of load balancing techniques for optimizing system performance
- Familiarity with routing protocols for network connectivity
