From character and level design to competitive gameplay and system design, help shape the future of interactive entertainment at Epic.What You'll DoEpic Games' Creator Platform team is looking for a Technical Systems Designer.  In this role, you will help design systems and features, while refining the tools and workflow used by both first-party and individual creators to build engaging experiences. You will be working on core gameplay systems straddling Unreal Engine, UEFN and Fortnite Creative to empower content creators and developers. Our ideal candidate has experience in systems and gameplay design and brings a passion for creative empowerment for both players and developers alike.In this role, you willHelp identify and design gameplay features that expand the Fortnite Ecosystem to new genres and audiencesDesign features utilizing systems and tools design, ensuring a good end-user experience and producing quality documentationWork with a multi-disciplinary team to guide the feature to final implementation, providing feedback and design input throughout the processProvide constant design feedback about features and take on feedback from other team members and disciplinesBe the primary point of contact for triage of open issues related to your featureHelp develop new features and processes within the design teamWhat we're looking for5+ years experience shipping multiple titles as a gameplay or systems designerPassionate about player experience, with a deep understanding of player motivations, player expectation, and player agencyTechnical Game System Design: Data Asset Architecture; Spreadsheet Automation; Strong software architecture in Blueprints; Algorithm efficiency and robustness; Impeccable ability to translate between engineers and designersDemonstrated understanding of gameplay systems, game creation tools, and user experienceExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience guiding collaboration across various disciplinesExperience working with multiple engines including Unreal would be idealEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEOur intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
