Full job description Department College of Nursing
Responsibilities We are seeking a full-time, 12-month, Specialized Teaching Faculty II candidate to teach primarily in the Undergraduate Nursing Program at the Florida State University College of Nursing. This position will provide instruction for pre-Nursing students in science courses, including but not limited to: Anatomy and Physiology I with a lab, Anatomy and Physiology II with a lab, and Microbiology with a lab. Students majoring in Nursing at Florida State University are required to complete prerequisite courses before applying to the college. The college is seeking an experienced faculty member who will teach sections limited to students who intend to major in Nursing.
Deliver instruction in didactic and lab settings to promote student success. Participate in planning, organizing, and developing curriculum for the Undergraduate Nursing Program. Supervise, evaluate, and mentor students in classroom and lab settings. Participate in departmental and team meetings. Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Academic doctorate (PhD, DNP, EdD) or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution. Relevant teaching experience. Preferred Qualifications Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty and staff at all levels within a collaborative environment. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software. Experience supervising and training employees. Experience meeting project deadlines. Experience identifying, gathering, interpreting, reporting data and/or editing information.
