Job Summary Supervise and provide administrative and technical direction to ensure effective chemistry controls in station systems and components. Assist Station Management and Operations in monitoring and trending chemistry parameters, and developing/recommending corrective measures for out of specifications conditions. Supervise daily operation of the Nuclear Chemistry Department to ensure the Nuclear Chemistry Program guidelines are in compliance with policies and procedures. Advise and assist management on Chemistry related areas or conditions. Maintain department budget. Respond to inquiries from the Department of Environmental Protection, State Water Control Board, Quality Assurance, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Institute Nuclear Power Operators. Participate in various chemistry audits, evaluations, and inspections.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience 5 years of experience in chemistry, which must include 2 years of nuclear power plant experience. Overall proficiency in chemistry including chemical analysis and data interpretation. Experience working in chemistry laboratory. Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to manage and assess performance of Chemistry personnel. General knowledge of environmental discharge requirements. Good communication skills. General knowledge of business practices including producing and maintaining budgets. Demonstrated initiative for improvement. Previous supervisory experience. Education Requirements Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering, Chemistry
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.3.2
Education requirements: Baccalaureate in chemistry, related science, or chemical engineering.
Minimum experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 4 yrs;
Nuclear power plant experience to include 2 yrs;
Supervisory or Management experience to include 1 yr.
Special requirements:
During the years of nuclear power plant experience, the individual shall have participated in supervisory or management activities at a nuclear power plant, including 2 months of operation above 20% power
