Carter Lumber has an amazing opportunity to be a remote Senior Level Components Designer. As a Senior Designer, you will be able to use your design skills to design Roof Trusses, Floor Trusses, EWP, and Wall Panels in a whole-house design file.  A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position.
Requirements to be Considered for this Position: 5-10 Years of experience designing Truss, EWP, and Wall Panels for Single-Family Custom or Tract Builders. Previous experience using MiTek truss design software. SE required. Previous experience using MiTek Management and the Tract-Master features. High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed. Complete understanding of processes including: RFI, Submittals, Production Files. Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans. Experience working in a multi-location environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Responsibilities of the Position: Designing    Creates design illustrations based on construction documents. Completes and finalizes engineered designs for production and assembly. Reviews engineered designs to ensure that design standards are being met. Communicates design information effectively with both internal and external customers. Physical Aspects Ability to spend long periods of time on the phone and computer. Ability to type and sit for long periods of time.
