With multiple sites in Shalford and Warwick, Gordon Murray Technologies continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for aSenior CAD Engineer - Brake Systems to join our Chassis Team in one of our Midland based locations.
Responsibilities:
Brake System Design: Lead the design and development of advanced brake systems for premium electric vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and integration with the overall vehicle architecture.
CAD Modelling: Utilize advanced CAD software, such as CATIA and 3DX, to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of brake components, considering both functionality and manufacturability.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including chassis systems, vehicle dynamics, and materials engineering, to ensure the cohesive integration of brake systems with other vehicle systems.
Innovative Solutions: Drive innovation in brake system design by staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials, and incorporating them into the development process.
Prototyping and Testing Support: Collaborate with the testing and prototyping teams to validate and optimize the brake system design through physical testing and simulation.
Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and design validation reports.
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a CAD Engineer with a specialization in brake systems.
Proficiency in CATIA and 3DX CAD software.
Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles and brake system dynamics.
Experience in prototyping and testing of brake components.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
