Background & Purpose of the Job
The site Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security Front Line Manager (SHES FLM) has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health, Environment, and Security improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level. They work with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHES Strategy and improvement plans to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses, environmental and security impacts to the business as measured in the core KPIs.
Who You Are & What You'll Do
The site SHES FLM has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at both of our Vermont Manufacturing sites.
Participate in regulatory, internal auditing, compliance, and permitting.
Target and goal setting for SHES metrics of plant (1, 3, 5 years)
SHES program / training maintenance and annual review.
Assist Process Safety programs (Both Ammonia and Combustible Dust)
Monitors, analyses, and reports their overall SHES performance data and their action plans for continuous improvement.
Understands the processes for the measurement and management of SHES impact, including resource planning.
Reports and communicates results, issues, and improvements to relevant stakeholders.
Identifies cost saving incentives for plant waste
Delivers results, and projects working with engineering.
Oversees the wastewater facility, and all regulatory aspects concerning it.
Coordinates recycle and waste streams, track and report results
Applies their leadership skills to encourage safe responsible behavior amongst their colleagues.
Involved in Extended Leadership Team– Training, Learning and Educating assets of the business.
Lead all activities within the Safety, Environmental, and PSM Pillars.
Champion all SHES reporting systems and dashboards.
Develop and Implement training for all SHES aspects.
Improve team delivery of all SHES Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) within each team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
Lead by direction and example in a way that reinforces a culture of zero SHES events or incidents.
Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of current waste systems supporting the site manufacturing process.
Manage incident cases and incident investigations
What You'll Need To Succeed
B.S. degree or greater in Science or Engineering or equivalent industrial experience
Experience in related discipline and/or management level experience preferred.
Experience in engineering and or leading projects preferred.
Must be able to work across multiple shifts and multiple shift schemes in a 24/7 environment.
Responsible for setting the SHES direction and change efforts.
Be able to influence the leadership team and WCM Pillar to accomplish site goals will be an integral requirement of this position.
Have an operational knowledge of various Information Technology support systems.
Background and expertise on Unilever and regulatory compliance requirements.
Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and processes into existing plant operations to achieve consistency with WCM requirements and measurable improvement in site KPIs.
HAZWOPER certified or ability to become certified.
Physical Requirements
Required to lift, up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment, individual will be expected to work on the manufacturing floor and be exposed to mechanical operations and cleaning and caustic solutions. Refrigeration environment - working in cold climate freezer storage center (0 to -20 degrees F) is required. In addition, there will be exposure to allergens, including but not limited to dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean and cinnamon.

Pay:

The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus:

This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI):

This position is LTI eligible.
