Position Summary: This position will offer students the opportunity to build on knowledge obtained from their coursework and apply it to a real-world production setting. Interns will be exposed to active sanitation and manufacturing processes and gain experience monitoring and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices. They will be introduced to HACCP Planning, verification and traceability programs, and Corrective Action Reporting. They will experience weekly mentoring on relevant topics within the industry and have the chance to network with onsite USDA inspectors. What you'll do:• During the internship, you will work with FSQA and operations to focus on and gain an understanding of production processes across the industry.• Assist the Food Safety Manager with information gathering and data entry for vendor qualification program.• Perform data analysis and result reporting for environmental testing of processing rooms.• Apply critical thinking and problem solving while supporting our validation team to ensure the compliance of our good manufacturing practices requirements.• Assess specification documents pertaining to vendor provided products as well as company processed products.About you:Enrolled in an accredited university program seeking an Associates or a Bachelor of Science/Arts in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Animal sciences, Agricultural sciences, Nutritional sciences, Food sciences, Public health, Community health *preferredMust be a junior or senior in college and university.Strong attention to detail, problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills.Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be located in Maryland.
