Title: Program Manager, United Readers Reports to: AmeriCorps Director FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: 40 hours Revision/Effective Date: April 2024 Note: Grant funded position with a start date of April 29, 2024 (earliest) Salary Range: $48,000 to $55,000 (Health, Dental, Vision, and Retirement Benefits available)

The Program Manager, United Readers supports and advances United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra's (UWNNS) mission to unite communities to improve lives. The United Readers program supports students' foundational literacy and math skills. This position will collaborate with the AmeriCorps Director and United Readers team to oversee the program, grant, and AmeriCorps members including the handling of critical confidential data. This position's primary responsibilities are to recruit, train, develop, and manage United Readers AmeriCorps members serving in regional elementary schools. This is a grant-based position and continuation of employment is dependent on continuation of program funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: RECRUITMENT, TRAINING, AND RETENTION · Lead the development and execution of strategic member recruitment, training, and retention plans
· Review applications, conduct screener calls, schedule and lead candidate interviews, and manage the organization of pre-onboarding tasks and files
· Maintain consistent communication with candidates and ensure compliance with pre-onboarding grant and program requirements
· Organize and lead all member training throughout the school year
· Collaborate with staff to schedule professional development and member experience sessions and resources for members
· Develop and utilize a data tracking system for recruitment, training, and retention efforts analysis including the garnering of member feedback
MEMBER MANAGEMENT · Conduct member school site visits and member observations as assigned
· Utilize observation tools to develop and provide member feedback
· Evaluate assigned members at the mid and end point of their service term and meet with members to discuss their evaluations
· Provide consistent communication and support to members as assigned
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT · Maintain and update member files, program policies, standard operating procedures, and resource documents
· Collaborate to develop and implement National Service Day plans and volunteer experience initiatives
· Lead program data monitoring for accuracy and assist with data analysis
· Assist with grant compliance and reporting
· Attend professional development and training opportunities
COMMUNITY IMPACT · Commitment to understanding all UWNNS Community Impact programming
· Collaborate to develop the strategic plan and outcomes of UWNNS programs
· Collaborate to design and implement UWNNS initiatives
· Collaborate with leadership to advocate for policies related to UWNNS focus areas
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Effectively represent UWNNS in the community
· Communicate UWNNS and program mission, values, and goals effectively
· Understand current educational, social, and community issues
· Prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all tasks and projects
· Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Bachelor's degree in Education or related field OR 3 years of significant similar program experience
· Preferred experience in project and data management and analysis, recruitment, retention, and leading and engaging others in learning
SKILLS REQUIRED OR PREFERRED · High-level organization, attention to detail, and project management skills
· Knowledge of standard office technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
· Have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
· Must successfully pass a background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to 3.5 hours, speak clearly, and hear callers when answering the phone. The employee is occasionally required to move throughout the office to perform office duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
