This personshould be able to successfullyoperatewith?highautonomy, both strategically and tactically. The Product Safety Manageris required tobeaware of the requirements, regulations and developments/best practicesasrelated to regulatory compliance, quality assurance and product/food safety as it applies to the food and other consumable productsin thedistribution industry. The positionis responsible forensuring that the processes, procedures, documentation, and training are adequate tomaintainregulatory compliance and product/food safety and quality from receiving through delivery. This rolewill be expected to provide hands-onleadership, support, program development, and training to field personnel and willoperateas the primary contact.It is essentialto havetechnicalknowledge,interpersonalandleadership skills to influence andguidechange.What you’ll do:Implement operational site programs and processes for receipt, storage, transportation, and disposal of food and other applicable consumable products (as needed) to ensure customer safety, regulatorycomplianceand customer success.?Develop and enhance Product/Food Safety & Compliance Operations programs for existing and emerging businesses.Write policies, standards for existing and emerging businesses; create and implement training programs todeliverregulatory compliance execution at the site & network level.Conduct a risk assessment and develop a road map for operational processes, design and execute compliance and product safety interventions, leverage auditing mechanisms, and analyze regulatory impacts of business models.Enable scalable business solutions.Work independently with Site and Regional OpsLeadership to ensure product/food safety and compliance to the regulatory and customer requirements.Develop business metrics to track compliance and process effectiveness; using data toidentifycompliance trends.Continuouslyidentifyand communicate improvement opportunities.Provide 24x7 support to field operations for issues involving the food safety and/or inventory, receiving and merchant systems.?Other duties/responsibilitiesas necessary.What you’ll bring to the table:Requires 25% travel.?Bachelor's degreein food science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.5+ years of experience managing Product/Food Safety, Compliance and Quality in a large-scale distribution, retail, grocery, food service, or manufacturing environment.Knowledge of Product safety regulations (local, state, FDA, USDA).Certified Professional-Food Safety, Registered Environmental Health Specialist, Sanitarian,PCQI.HACCP plan development experience (basic and/or advanced HACCP training).?Classification:ExemptReports to:Director, Global Safety and CompliancePerks & Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision & Basic Life InsurancePaid Maternity/Parental Leave ProgramFlexible Time Off ProgramPaid Sick Leave and Paid Emergency LeaveFloating Holidays (2 days/year)Wellness Days (1 day/quarter)401K Match Competitive Salary, Performance Bonus Variety of voluntary benefits, such as, short term disabilityReferral Bonus ProgramFun Culture >>>Check us out on Instagram(@lifeatshipbob)ShipBobbelieves in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach.
