Job Listing : Disease Prevention Specialist: (Ryan White Program). Ottumwa, Iowa
(FULL TIME POSITION)



Duties: The disease prevention specialist helps develop ways to detect, prevent, and
control the spread of disease in public settings which helps keep our communities safe.
They reduce the spread of disease by collecting and analyzing data on community
infections, identifying outbreaks, and using appropriate prevention strategies to prevent
and control further spread. Works as a member of the Ryan White care team to perform
all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of River
Hills CHC.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:

1. Graduated from an accredited nursing program.




2. Current and active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN) in the State of Iowa or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Certification is required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Maintain Nursing CEUs for continued active license.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to speak and read
the English language.
3. Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically
underserved persons.
4. Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing and Electronic Medical
Record (EMR).
5. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
6. Must be able to travel.


Hours:


Generally Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


All scheduling is subject to change at any time, reasonable flexible hours will be
considered.
