Position Summary


The Institute for Relationship Science and the Stress Early Experiences and Development Research Institute in University of Denvers Department of Psychology invites applications for postdoctoral fellows. Funding for the positions comes from an NIH-funded project. Fellows may be funded and supported for up to 3 years, pending performance and grant support. The positions are located at the University of Denver and involves close collaboration with multiple faculty members within the Institutes.
We are seeking applicants with experience in clinical and/or community-based research and in implementing prevention and intervention programs. Additionally, experience, knowledge, and/ or research interest in couples and family relationships, health disparities, maternal mental health, LGBTQ+ health, and longitudinal methods are desirable. Finally, we seek applicants who speak Spanish and who have strong interpersonal skills, prior clinical research experience, and excellent organizational skills to enable management of projects involving multiple, longitudinal assessments.


Faculty mentors are committed to providing mentoring and research resources that will support fellows in their professional development, including opportunities to submit and publish papers from multiple rich datasets available in our research lab. For clinically trained fellows, opportunities to accrue hours for licensure will also be available.



Essential Functions


The primary responsibilities for the Postdoctoral Fellows are:
Program implementation and individual participant sessions Data management and writing reports Recruitment and participant follow-up Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a variety of stakeholders in person, by phone, through written project materials and by email Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Good analytical and problem-solving skills Good Organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to be independently motivated to identify, research, and propose approaches to accomplish goals Ability to take initiative to learn and share information Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate as needed Ability to approach work with diverse communities with respect and humility as a listener and learner Required Qualifications Ph.D. In Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Developmental Psychology or a related field Experience working with vulnerable populations and with project management Spanish fluency Preferred Qualifications Licensed or license eligible Knowledge and/or research interest in couples and family relationships, mental health, maternal or perinatal depression, maternal health, or LGBTQ+ health Experience working in health care settings, such as hospitals Experience working with LGBTQ+ or pregnant/postpartum women Professional/career interest in research and presentation/publication of empirical findings Working Environment Standard office environment. Noise level is quiet to moderate. Physical Activities Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. Work Schedule


Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week.

The salary grade for this position is 8.



Salary Range


The salary range for this position is $56,000-$68,000.


The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
