Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking interpreter and translators for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, etc. Interpreters and translators must have daytime availability and a reliable internet/phone connection to carry out virtual sessions. Some interpretations may be in person as well.
Languages needed:
Portuguese
JOB REQUIREMENTS
+ U.S. citizenship
+ Candidates MUST have at least 1 year of professional transition/interpreting experience on their resume. Language proficiency alone is NOT sufficient. Volunteer interpreting for a school or church, or interpreting for family/friends is NOT sufficient.
+ It is preferred that candidates possess documentation to show proficiency in languages other than English. If documentation is not available, candidates might be asked to complete a proficiency test.
+ Proficiency in reading, listening, and comprehension of the source language with the ability to transcribe the foreign language, summarize, and gist.
+ Must be willing to get a background check.
+ Must be able to perform interpretations in a quiet environment free of distraction.
+ Must have reliable phone service for telephonic interpretations.
+ Must be comfortable using computer camera capabilities to carry out video interpretation.
+ Performs duties related to interpreting/translating as assigned.
