Portfolio Manager, Corporate Lending We are representing a banking client in the DC area in the search for a Portfolio Manager to oversee corporate leading for a growing small business portfolio. As a Portfolio Manager in Corporate Lending, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of corporate loans, managing risk, and ensuring the profitability and sustainability of the lending activities. You will work closely with internal stakeholders such as credit analysts, relationship managers, and senior management to ensure effective portfolio management strategies are implemented.

Conduct in-depth financial analysis of borrower financial statements, cash flow projections, and collateral valuations to identify potential risks and opportunities. Utilize financial models and risk management tools to assess portfolio performance and identify areas for optimization. Implement risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. Identify and assess credit, market, and operational risks associated with the portfolio, developing strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. Work closely with credit analysts to review credit proposals, assess creditworthiness, and make recommendations for credit approvals or restructurings. Develop and execute strategies to optimize the portfolio mix, balancing risk and return objectives. Identify opportunities for portfolio growth and diversification, working with relationship managers to originate new lending opportunities. Proactively manage non-performing assets, implementing workout strategies to minimize losses and maximize recovery. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as relationship managers, credit analysts, and legal counsel to facilitate seamless execution of lending transactions. Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on portfolio performance, risk exposures, and strategic initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, understanding their financing needs and providing tailored solutions. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, board committees, and regulatory authorities, providing insights into portfolio performance and risk metrics. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, conducting periodic reviews and audits as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. MBA, CPA or CFA designation preferred. 3-5 years of experience in corporate lending, credit analysis, or portfolio management within the financial services industry. Prior experience in risk management, audit, or financial services advisory. Strong understanding of financial markets, accounting principles, and credit risk management techniques. Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and risk assessment tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and make strategic recommendations. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
