The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for

Operations Analyst, Operations Analyst, UNLV Financial Aid - Operations and Reporting [R0140977].
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations and Reporting, the Operations Analyst assists in executing the Financial Aid Operations production calendar, troubleshoots complex data situations in PeopleSoft, coordinates all communications in PeopleSoft, and assists in testing financial aid processing jobs and system integrations. Creating and maintaining system/process documentation is also a major focus of this role.
The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships is a dynamic and ever-evolving office that experiences constant change to meet the demands of our students, to keep pace with rapidly emerging technology, and to remain compliant with new federal, state and institutional policies. The person in this role is expected to be flexible and must be adaptable to change; this includes but is not limited to modifying and/or assisting in creating unplanned communications, audits, systems processes, etc. All associated documentation and maintenance resulting from the change/update is expected as well.
Additional duties include analyzing data imports from the federal, state and institutional application and ensuring the student information system remains accurate and functioning optimally. A combination of daily, weekly, and other periodic audits will be performed by the Analyst to accomplish this critical responsibility.
The individual in this position will be a dedicated resource to the processing team for troubleshooting student and system issues during the periods of aid year roll-over, awarding preparation, term opening, initial disbursements and pre-census clean-up
Working irregular hours, including nights and weekends, are expected as needed to meet essential duties of the role, staff events, and to support various needs of the Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a
Bachelor's Degree
from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and
1-3 Years of Related Professional Experience.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
Knowledge
Demonstrated proficiency to create and deliver reports and analysis to help with executive-level decision-making
Knowledge of academic policy and undergraduate academic programs
Awareness of Nevada and Board of Regents policies
Knowledge of higher education current issues, specifically academic issues and policies
Knowledge of federal, state and institutional aid policies
Skills and Abilities
Effective leadership and administrative skills: directing, planning, organizing
Effective communication skills: interpersonal, oral, written
Research skills in support of the development of policy
Ability to adapt to the frequent changes and needs of a dynamic Financial Aid office
Ability to quickly master PeopleSoft and Salesforce systems
Ability to develop and continuously improve administrative policies and procedures
Ability to anticipate issues and the consequences of decisions/actions
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to establish productive, collegial relationships at all levels with staff, faculty, and admin. both on and off-campus
Ability to coordinate staff efforts, to facilitate a team environment and to perform effectively as a collaborator
