JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, operation and execution of entertainment shows via Show Control. Troubleshooting, maintaining, reprogramming and correcting system errors. Supporting shows with use of highly skilled advanced Control Systems for Lighting, Audio, Video, Lasers and Special EffectsMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for operating and maintaining the Show Control systems in the park wide Tech booth, pre-show inspections. Troubleshooting system failures of Show Control within the assigned venue or event including but not limited to the operation and programming of the lighting, video, lasers, gps, SPFX and audio in a live show situation. Proficient in advanced Show Control systems such as Medialon, Ovation, Alcorn Mcbride and others.Responsible for routine/daily maintenance and troubleshooting of all parade systems. Communicates unknown system failures to Maintenance Contract Vendor) and Tech Entertainment Show Control Management. Verifying through on-line system & live direction support that corrections were properly administered and systems are functional for show. Assists in loading new shows or event specific programming, custom music programs for events; ie corporate events, marching bands, HHN, Macy's etc. as directed by Technical Entertainment ManagementMaintain a daily log system and control booth information document that is distributed to all vested parties. Provide data entry of information to include but not limited to performance test results, physical inspections of parade route audio, amp racks, media matrix devices, Nion systems, network devices such as routers and switches. Provide implementation notes for maintenance team.Ensures strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.SCOPE:Operation of the Technical Booth within the assigned venue or event including but not limited to the operation, pre-show checks, inspections, routine maintenance, programming of lighting, audio, show control & spfx in a live show situation using systems such as Medialon, Ovation, Alcorn McBride and others.EDUCATION:High school degree or GED is required.Technical school is preferred.EXPERIENCE:Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.3-5 years experience using advanced control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience on advanced show control systems such as Medialon, Ovation, Alcorn McBride, Birket and Allen Bradley preferred.Emergency Repairs, Parts Assembly, and networking preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Reasoning AbilityAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formStrong problem solving skills to include assessing issues, potential causes and make recommendationsSolid judgment and ability to think and act independentlyYour talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal Orlando Resort.Here you can.Universal Orlando is an equal opportunity employer.
