PURPOSE STATEMENT The Microbiology Intern will be working at our Buffalo, NY world headquarters in theMicrobiological Laboratory. The Intern willmanage documentation support, support food safety and microbiology special projects, assist with technical research, and more.
This is a summer internship that is based in Buffalo, NY. Non-residents must secure your own temporary housing for the summer internship (June-August). Must be available to work a hybrid schedule of 20 hours minimum and up to 30 hours max per week. Must also be available to work a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES Enhance oral and written communications anddevelop good working ethics and professionalism
Develop knowledge and understanding of quality and standards as applied to food safety and microbiology
Become familiar with and understand corporate goals and objectives related to food safety and microbiology
Laboratory support in shelf study analysis and routine microbiological analysis: Conduct food product shelf life study independently based on RPC Good Laboratory Practice and shelf life protocol Assist Rich's corporate food safety and microbiology special project such as research on ingredient food safety risk, food safety training development, etc.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Biology, Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science, and STEM majors are highly preferred
Biology laboratory testing practice and experience required
Proficient in using Microsoft Office software suit including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Power Apps
Technical research for device development and project task assignments
Proficient in oral and written communications including with technical subjects and graphical charts.Must also demonstrate good organizational skills.

COMPENSATION In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
Annual Range/Hourly Rate $17.00-$32.00
