Summary

Then we want to hear from you. GLWA's full-service Public Affairs Group is seeking someone to take its internal communications strategy to the next level.

Lead and manage the development of programs and initiatives designed to educate external audiences about the value of the work GLWA does to protect public health and the rewarding careers available in the water sector, as well as engage and motive internal audiences. Collaborate with business units and member partners to develop communications solutions to enhance the effectiveness of identified programs, projects, and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the development of programs and initiatives to engage and motivate internal stakeholders
Coordinate executive outreach to team members at key levels of the organization
Work with internal stakeholders to identify their needs, including identifying key audiences, preparing materials geared toward the prospective audience and identifying channels which will reach the intended audience
Develop and implement a team member recognition program and related events
Coordinate, with outside research vendor, a bi-annual team member survey which assists in refining GLWA's internal communications strategy
Create and distribute engaging content for all internal communications platforms
Coordinate GLWA's holiday giving program
Required Education and Experience
Transcripts or Diploma Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related operational area.
Three (3) or more years of experience in a specialty designation area preferably in a municipal or public utility setting
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Communications professional with at least 5 years relevant experience; bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing Communications
Ability to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups (technical subject matter specialists to business owners), with the ability to present complex information in easily understandable format and tailored to audience
Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with teams across GLWA, meeting deadlines and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
Passion for storytelling, building relationships and content creation that engages GLWA team members
Other Requirements
Valid Michigan Driver's License
