Machinist

Primarily responsible for setting up, operating surface grinding machines, working with different types of materials, and programming as required with the authority to carry out all assigned tasks.
Job ResponsibilitiesPerform quality work on conventional operated surface grinding machinesUse of Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure all dimensional requirements are metSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machinesWork from and follow blueprints, diagrams, & written process instructionsWork with engineers, production personnel, and others to resolve issuesInspect and document machinery for any needed repairsMake minor repairs on machinery as neededAny other duties as required by the CompanyRequired Skills / KnowledgeKnowledge of Company's Policies & ProceduresKnowledge of HS&E policy and able to interpret HS&E warningsKnowledge and Skilled in computer software (MS Office, Word, Excel and internet navigation) Knowledge of machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills EDM, etc.)Knowledge of machine shop theory, shop mathematics and layout techniquesSkilled in Oral and Written Communication (English)Skilled in the use of dimensional measuring equipmentSkilled in setting up, programming and operating machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills, EDM, etc.)Ability to machine and measure to close tolerances (.0002") as requiredAbility to read complex blueprint specifications, charts, and follow work orders and engineering instructions as necessaryAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5Ability to read and write the English language per FAA regulationsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to problem solve repair/overhaul problemsAbility to work under limited supervisionAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet company deadlinesAbility to focus on results, even when dealing with diverse, complex tasks for different jobs and projects
