Aggie Print at Utah State University is seeking applicants for a Graphic Designer position. The Graphic Designer would be over the continuing development of our website/e-commerce, working with customers to order promotional items, designing merchandise, entering orders, and more. Incumbents will often work with University Marketing & Communications in making decisions based on set policy, as the position will be required to help make corrections to files and design projects that will both meet University standards.
Promotional Printing (40%) Design projects for several departments at the University with varying levels of complexity. Collaborate with customer service representatives at Aggie Print in creating new designs for customers Oversee the promotional printing (aka swag stuff) and overflow of general materials. Coordinate all promotional printing orders: create artwork, proofing, ordering, etc. Evaluate all files to make sure they meet the standards set by the University VIG: correct logo, correct placement, proper use, etc. Collaborate with UMAC on orders that do not meet such expectations as set in the VIG. Fixing files so they can move into production. Help to prepare all print files approved for production. Help to track all print files that need assistance before moving into production. Help to enter incoming jobs into print management software (EPMS) Oversee, enter, and track the jobs entered into Brand Manager (all promotional items). Work with UMAC to maintain accurate, current logo files in archive. Website Design and Upkeep (40%) Continuously update and maintain website/e-commerce: updating information, adding products, etc. Customer Service (20%) Assist with customer service responsibilities: answering phones, emails and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience; OR a bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite products, Microsoft programs and other print software programs. Basic HTML and CSS knowledge. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Acrobat, inDesign, illustrator Knowledge of Wordpress and WooCommerce standards and functionality. HTML and CSS proficiency. Web design background. UI and interactive design. Graphic design experience. Experience in these design fields: Brand Identity Design, Advertising & Marketing Design, Apparel Design, and Print & Publication Design. Experience working within the structure of a visual identity guide. Customer service experience. Experience with Banner, ServiceNow, Box, Canvas, and Argos. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to understand and interpret policy fairly and consistently. Ability to understand and define workflows for multi-step processes. Ability to work collaboratively in a busy office environment and to be a team player. Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
