General Carpenter Position
A general carpenter is responsible for assisting the project manager in all aspects of the Alair Homes building process and phases of construction, ensuring they are on time and within budget. To assist in monitoring jobsite quality. Analyze schematics and blueprints, follow clients' and designer's specifications, complete tasks assigned and independently to keep the job moving and ensure the highest quality and client's satisfaction. A general carpenter must have a good knowledge of the building process and be efficient and task oriented.
Job Responsibilities:
-Provide excellent customer service to ensure we create raving fans.
-Work collaboratively with all team members including staff, sub trades and market partners as well as independently and self-motivated.
Job Tasks:
Complete punch-list items for inspections on projects and final completion punch-lists, including warranty items Installing jobsite signs and maintaining safety signage Assist project managers in overseeing subcontractors on assigned projects and maintaining a clean jobsite Analyze plans and data as needed to maximize performance and productivity during project planning and construction. Complete an array of carpentry tasks on projects to keep up with building schedules, including; simple framing, finish carpentry, some demo and painting/touch-up. Assist project managers in ordering specialty items, fixtures and material, including picking up material Be familiar with current building codes and stay up to date on best building practices Assist the project managers in maintaining jobsite safety, security and cleanliness Assist the project managers in working with municipalities and inspectors Maintain your timekeeping on all projects Qualifications
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Comfortable with technology and carpentry tools
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
