Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Position will serve as a hybrid position serving all athletic facilities including Halton Arena, Jerry Richardson Stadium, Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium, Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium, Irwin Belk Track and Field Center, Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex and Transamerica Field.
Event Management: Assist with all athletic event operations, as well as outside events held in athletic venues. This position will serve as the dedicated Game Manager for Men's and Women's Tennis, as well as a to be determined off-season sport (spring soccer, fall softball, etc.). This position also serves as the first assistant for any needs the Barnhardt Student Activity Center staff may have for hosted events including commencements and graduations, concerts, meetings, student focused events, blood drives, fairs/festivals, and a variety of other special and rental events. Event coverage will include but is not limited to: Event opening and closing responsibilities, assisting event personnel with various functions, and troubleshooting/problem-solving during events as required.
Student Staff Lead: This Position will serve as the athletics student staff liaison. Working closely with the Guest Services Manager to assure all athletic events and outside rentals are properly staffed with student workers.
Administration & Projects: This position will work closely with the Director of Athletic Projects and Administration to start, track, and close projects around all athletic facilities including branding and maintenance. This position with work with the department Business Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to streamline all department operations including assist with administrative functions of the Facility Services Department, including budgeting, invoicing, cost control, equipment inventory, preventive maintenance, record controls, safety reports, event follow-up, and payroll functions.
Will also assist with game day operations and events for various other athletics venues including Jerry Richardson Stadium, Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium, Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium, Irwin Belk Track and Field Center, Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex and Transamerica Field.
Event coverage will include but not limited to; event opening and closing responsibilities, assisting event personnel with various functions, and troubleshooting/problem-solving during events as required. Minimum Experience / Education: Recent college graduates or graduate school level with a study emphasis in Sport Management, Public Facility Management, Event Management, or a related field. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: * Master's degree preferred.
* Experience working in Athletics, Event Management, Facility/Venue Management
* Strong background in customer service, safety, and security.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel.
* Well organized with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Detail-oriented.
