Job summary
D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Division Vice President of LandResponsible for managing land acquisition and development for the divisionOversee due diligence process, negotiate acquisitions, and develop infrastructure
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Perform land search and build strategic relationships for potential acquisitions• Negotiate property acquisitions with landowners, banks, attorneys, or brokers• Conduct market analyses to determine financial viability of projects• Walk land to assess potential development challenges• Submit and review environmental reports for permits and acquisition• Prepare acquisition submittal packages and manage land development staff• Monitor development post-closing and coordinate with municipalities• Communicate critical dates and information to other department heads• Review operations and performance of the Land Department• Develop policies for land usage and property sales
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Real Estate, Planning, Government Relations or related field• 7-10 years of land acquisition experience• Valid driver's license and vehicle• Experience in contract negotiation• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Experience working in a team environment• Proficiency with MS Office and email• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds• Regular exposure to outside weather conditions
