To further consolidate our position as a leader in the Flatbed and Stepdeck freight business, Kaiser Logistics is looking for a Director of Business Development to drive growth, build a sales team, and be a key member of the Company leadership team. The role will report directly to the CEO. It is a challenging and rewarding position.
This is a new position and as such there are minimal documented systems in place. One of the first actions will be to work with the leadership team to create a playbook to ensure that there is a documented, repeatable sales process going forward.
This Director of Business Development is a "Player/Coach" position. The successful candidate will need to be poised, resilient, flexible, and will have responsibility to establish a sales process, set objectives and targets, and build and develop as sales team to drive dynamic growth in the business.
Primary Responsibilities: Develop a repeatable sales processes Develop and maintain customer relationships Build sales targets and compensation plans for sales team Recruit and retain qualified sales professionals Relentlessly seek out profitable freight via multiple channels Educate potential customers about the value of Kaiser Logistics Act as a point of contact for all customers Contact potential and existing customers Develop and grow employee and customer sales referrals Understand missed opportunities and take action to improve Gain industry knowledge by attending Association events and trade shows Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all communications Be a Kaiser representative at all times Other duties as assigned Education / Experience: 5 years of freight sales experience (required)1 year of experience managing a sales team (required) Flatbed or Stepdeck brokerage experience (required) High School Diploma (required) Bachelor's degree (preferred) The Director of Business Development is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. This position is eligible for benefits including PTO, medical, dental, vision, and applicable life and short-term disability program in accordance with Company policies.
