Day Porter

The Day Porter is responsible to assist with daily maintenance and custodial operations, safely and efficiently supporting the school functions, classrooms and offices, and the physical plant. This position collaborates with the Maintenance Team, Grounds Team, and contracted Custodians to complete tasks. The Day Porter assists regularly with setups and cleanups for events, with an emphasis on enhanced sanitation and classroom setups. This position requires the ability to adapt readily to constantly shifting work scenarios within tight timelines and multiple constraints. We welcome and value employees with diverse life experiences.This position is full time at 40 hours a week (typically 10am-6:30pm), with specific days and hours to be determined by the Facilities Manager. Schedule will require a regular rotation of weekend work.Job Responsibilities:Execute work orders as assignedVariety of campus maintenance and event support tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, cleaning of offices, recycling and trash removal, etc.Responsible for securing all facilities as needed, locking/unlocking and arming/disarming buildings.Light building maintenance, as qualified and with interest in trainingAbility to operate golf cart or other equipment for events and project workCommon areas and restroom wipe downs after breaks and lunch periods.Assist community members in small tasks as requestedPerform project deep cleaning annually or as neededOccasional operation of lifts for deep cleaning, small tractors/caterpillars, and other rental equipment to assist in special projects (e.g. snow removal operations)
