Highly reputable Real Estate Development firm looking to add an experienced Construction Cost Estimator to their growing team. This rewarding full-time position is primarily responsible for the daily management, coordination and successful completion of the preconstruction phase of assigned projects, producing thorough, accurate and competitive cost and schedule summaries. This includes researching and reporting on comparable local materials and labor costs for similar markets, understanding the project requirements, construction documents, specifications, solicitation and review of the required number of qualified subcontractor proposals, and preparation of detailed cost estimates, including conceptual estimates through pricing of construction documents. The role reports directly to the Director of Finance. The person awarded this position will: Knowledge and understanding of the pre-construction phase of commercial real estate development including onsite site work and off-site improvement costs Ability to create thorough, accurate and detailed cost estimates, including conceptual estimates through pricing of project-specific construction documents Perform thorough document reviews, including geotechnical reports, phase I & II reports, hazardous material, schematics, design development & construction drawings, specifications, etc. Work with development managers to prepare timely and accurate project-specific budgets for client approval Solicit, evaluate and qualify subcontractor proposals Understands contractual terms and conditions The ideal candidate will have experience in: A BS degree in a construction related field strongly preferred (civil engineering, construction management, architecture, construction technology, etc.) Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating for a real estate development firm with single-tenant BTS development experience Conceptual estimating experience and proficiency is preferred Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design Ability to use CAD Programs Thorough working knowledge of MS Excel is required Advanced knowledge of construction and engineering processes. High-level mathematical skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Advanced analytical skills. Proficient with computer estimation software. Good project management skills.
