Network Operations Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Resolves hardware or software problems in response to user questions and requests for assistance by diagnosing the source of malfunctions, recommending corrective actions, and/or consulting with appropriate staff or vendor. Installs, configures, upgrades, or replaces microcomputer hardware and software for users. Evaluates and makes recommendations for necessary adjustments to applications to satisfy user requirements. Provides recommendations on the purchase of user hardware and software. Assists in planning, preparation, and conducting seminars on software, hardware, network or other computer related topics. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an Associate degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field. OR Completion of technical training in computer science, information technology, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting plus one year of experience in computer support. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
