Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy• Build and maintain positive relations with media outlets and industry influencers• Manage the organization's public image and reputation• Enhance internal communications and employee engagement• Oversee the creation of content for various communications channels• Develop and implement crisis communications plans• Supervise and mentor communication staff• Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts• Must possess a cell phone and a driver's license• In-state and national travel may be required
Requirements
• Experienced communications strategist with success in leading large scale communications programs• Current knowledge of the changing media and digital landscape• Excellent writing and communication skills• Ability to develop and utilize narrative and messaging guidelines• Skilled project and people manager• Familiarity with traditional and new media, digital marketing, and targeting strategies• Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience• Experience leading strategic communications efforts• Experience with progressive or social justice organizations• Experience managing complex media, digital, narrative, email, video, and/or design projects• Columbus-based professionals preferred
