ViiV Healthcare was created as a joint venture by Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline in November 2009 with both companies transferring their HIV assets to the new company. In 2012 Shionogi joined the company. 76.5% of the company is now owned by GlaxoSmithKline, 13.5% by Pfizer and 10% by Shionogi.
The Field Reimbursement Director (FRD), Mid-Atlantic leads and coaches a team of Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) who provide technical managed care coverage, coding, and payment support to customers on behalf of ViiV Healthcare.  The FRMs provide field reimbursement support for the full ViiV Healthcare Product Portfolio and are expected to have deep local area and account market access expertise. The FRD will ensure team compliance with all relevant commercial practices including requirements that govern the provision of patient reimbursement support services.
The primary responsibility of the FRD is to hire, lead, and develop a team of FRMs to effectively engage customers to understand key coverage, coding, payment, product acquisition and affordability dynamics for ViiV Healthcare products in their local geography.  In addition, the FRD provides management oversight and training to their team to ensure all team members follow relevant SOPs and Ways of Working. 
The FRD must effectively influence a team of internal Matrix stakeholders included, but not limited to Field Sales, Access Strategy & Marketing, Reimbursement Support Services, Payer Field Teams (National and Regional), Channel Account Team, Strategic Operations, Brand Marketing as well as Finance.   FRD coordinates communications with senior leaders among these matrix partners, while reporting directly to the Field Vice President, US Field Reimbursement.

Recruit, hire, manage and coach highly qualified and effective Field Reimbursement Managers including normal and customary supervisory responsibilities such as budget management, performance evaluation, coaching, development, etc. Accountability for all Field Reimbursement activities across multiple products, to include, but not limited to Field execution, training, compliance, auditing, and performance.  Develop FRM capabilities: Train team members on key technical information related to coverage, coding, payment and affordability Identify gaps in current and future state capabilities and coordinate appropriate training Establish and lead cohesive and comprehensive Patient Access and Affordability Strategy in assigned geography and provide leadership support for case escalations Further develop ViiV's approach to Field Reimbursement Management   Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and field reimbursement Superior interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and gain alignment across Matrix stakeholders This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. Bachelor's Degree & 5 plus years as a Customer Facing First Line Leader and Coach across min of 2 Business Units 2 plus years transformational leadership experience Experience working with internal and external customers that requires knowledge of rules and regulations that govern provision of reimbursement support services Ability to travel up to 70% Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
5 years' experience developing and/or providing coverage, coding and payment information to provider customers for specialty injectable/infusible medicines Thorough understanding of the technical payer policy processes, systems and requirements for coverage, coding and payment for specialty injectable/infusible medicines Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulation and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services and how to monitor and mitigate for those risks Experience training and developing others to understand the technical payer policy processes, systems and requirements for coverage, coding and payment for specialty injectable/infusible medicines Strong understanding and ability to communicate technical elements of coding and billing requirements at the National and Regional level across all settings of care Comprehensive understanding of Medicare (Parts A, B, C and D), Medicaid,  ADAP, Commercial Insurance and their associated reimbursement dynamics Strong understanding of drug acquisition and dispensing in the specialty injectable/infusible space (role of Buy and Bill, Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, etc.) Strong understanding of third-party reimbursement support service vendors and how to effectively interact in a compliant fashion Why ViiV Healthcare (GSK)?
