EQPD Tutor The role :

Join our team as a contracted Academic Tutor with EQPD where you'll deliver high-dosage tutoring in a virtual setting. As a tutor, you'll work closely with students, fostering strong connections while supporting their academic success and having a growth mindset. Deliverables:
Deliver high-quality, one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions based on our provided framework Build strong rapport and connections with students to facilitate effective learning Provide support in subjects such as Reading (1st-9th grade), Math (1st-10th grade), and High School Academic Mentorship. Engage in ongoing paid professional learning opportunities Conduct tutoring sessions primarily in a virtual environment, requiring access to a computer and reliable internet connect Tutoring Cycle: Duration: September 2024 -Beginning of June 2025 Hours vary throughout the duration of the contract Rolling tutoring start dates throughout the contract Certification program opens early August 2024 Requirements and Qualifications :
Completion or currently enrolled in at least 12 college course credits Strong English language skills Computer and Wifi System Requirements Access to Google Drive, Internet browser software, Email software, Zoom Access to a computer/tablet with a working webcam, microphone, speakers, and reliable internet connection that is necessary for video conferencing (see specific requirements below) Desktop or Laptop Computer Requirements Windows or Linux or macOS: Chrome/Edge Chrome 78+ Firefox 72+ Safari 12+ Android Chrome 78+ Safari 12+ Network Requirements Internet speed of at least 5Mb/s download and 3Mb/s upload You can run a speed test by searching "Internet Speed Test" on Google Desired Skills Ability to engage effectively with children Flexibility and adaptability to the often fast-paced and changing school environment Openness to constructive feedback for continuous learning and development Strong communication skills to build relationships with students, parents, and EQPD Admin Reliability and commitment to meeting with the same student at the same time each week Detail-oriented and able to keep and submit accurate records Willingness to learn our curriculum framework and receive guidance from a tutor coach Strong organizational skills to follow processes accurately and efficiently Physical Demands Sit at a computer for several hours in a row Ability to look at a computer screen and focus on it for several hours in a row This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels Compensation and Benefits Starting pay is $15.00/hour Flexible schedule with a minimum commitment of 8 hours/week; we cannot guarantee hours Opportunities for personal and professional growth Make a meaningful impact in the community and gain experience in community-based learning Develop valuable skills in teamwork, collaboration, and virtual communication Build your resume and expand your network of connections Our Hiring Process Submit an application along with a YouTube or Google Drive video link to a brief interview question. Virtual One-on-One Interview: Engage in a one-on-one interview with one of our team members to dive deeper into the program and assess mutual fit. Following the interview, applicants will be notified of the decision to proceed with onboarding within one week. Onboarding Program: Opens early August 2024. Successful applicants will undergo the following steps. Submitting contractor paperwork to the EQPD Accounts Payable Department Completion of a required background check, with processing times ranging from 1 to 4 weeks based on state requirements EQPD certification program, compensated after your first successful tutoring session. Qualification: Upon certification, tutors gain access to our tutor portal and communication platform, featuring all available tutoring sessions.
