Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Tax Examiner II position is for the Revenue/Compliance Division/call center located in the Las Vegas district of The Department of Taxation. Tax Examiners are responsible for assisting taxpayers to resolve account issues and to answer taxability questions over the telephone in the Call Center. The call center's function is to answer phone calls from taxpayers requesting assistance or guidance regarding their accounts or to answer general questions. The main purpose of the Tax Examiner is to answer these questions quickly and accurately or determine who may best answer the question and process the call as trained. There is a broad range of area's that the sales/use tax examiners are required to be knowledgeable in. The areas include but are not limited to, sales and or use tax questions, modified business tax, Commerce Tax and to have basic knowledge of Excise tax types.
