This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Supplemental Instructor for in Advanced Manufacturing who will be all-in on our mission and who will perform duties primarily related to the instruction of courses in assigned subject matter areas. Leveraging a strong background in the automotive repair industry, this instructor brings real-world insights to the classroom. Proficient in teaching repair techniques, refinishing processes, and industry-standard safety protocols.
Requirements EDUCATION Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Associate of Applied Science in Advanced Manufacturing or related industrial fields.
EXPERIENCE Required: Three (3) years of experience in the field of manufacturing, renewable energy, instrumentation, or automation.
Preferred: Five (5) or more years of experience in the field of manufacturing, renewable energy, instrumentation, or automation. Teaching experience is also preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred: Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) Certification
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide supplemental classroom instruction for applicable programs. Perform effective teaching activities, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research and internships. Plan, develop and present organized instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend courses as required. Attend briefings on procedures, advising, registration, and general policy. Complete appropriate administrative paperwork and performance evaluations in a timely manner. Participate in department, division and college meetings as assigned or required. Assume responsibility for the orderliness of the learning environment and in the appropriate and safe use of instructional facilities and equipment. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
