The
Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant
will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the cost accounting functions related to our manufacturing processes. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in manufacturing cost analysis, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing strategic insights to drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting Management:
Oversee the end-to-end cost accounting process for manufacturing operations.
Analyze and validate production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Implement and maintain cost accounting methodologies to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare regular financial reports detailing manufacturing costs, variances, and trends.
Conduct in-depth analysis of cost data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to provide insights into financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of manufacturing budgets.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to create accurate forecasts and projections.
Provide financial support for strategic decision-making related to manufacturing processes.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and enhance cost accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices in cost accounting and recommend system enhancements when necessary.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits related to manufacturing costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting within a senior role.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
20% travel required
