Kramers is an independent bookstore located in the heart of Dupont Circle. For more than 45 years Kramers has provided residents from DC and further afield with a spectacularly curated book selection and a book-related events program.
This environment is fun, fast-paced, engaging and challenging all at the same time. You must be able to communicate well, dynamically interact with our customers, adapt to the ever-changing world of books, and work independently, yet in unison with your Kramers team.
As a Sr. Bookseller you will be expected to perform the following tasks:
Provide outstanding customer service. Perform section detail and inventory management. Shelving and restocking. Occasionally open and close the store (this will be a key-holding position). To be successful in this role, you'll have customer service experience, be comfortable engaging customers in conversations about books, have a thirst for knowledge, be detail oriented, and be motivated to work with the book store team to achieve challenging sales goals. It's especially helpful if you are a bit of an expert in a particular genre!
We are open Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We hire for part-time positions based upon your knowledge, experience, and availability. Booksellers hired for this position on a part-time basis, would work somewhere between 15-25 hours depending on your availability and the business needs.
