Social Services Director

A social services director in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) manages the Social Services Department and ensures the needs of residents are met.
Responsibilities include: Policies and procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures, and interpret them to employees, residents, visitors, and government agencies Training: Provide in-service training to staff members Resident care: Counsel residents, families, and staff on adjustment to the nursing facility, and assist with discharge planning Community resources: Maintain a community resource list and coordinate nursing services and other resources within the facility, such as contracted rehab services, hospice, and psychological services Regulatory compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work; OR Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a human-services related major, including sociology, gerontology, psychology, rehabilitation counseling or special education; AND
one year in a healthcare setting where the individual is working as a supervised social worker who works directly with individuals Equal Opportunity Employer
