Equine Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to be the on-site liaison overseeing the financial operations and reporting activities of our Western Competition's Division located in Albuquerque, NM . As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial data analysis, financial statement preparation and third-party compliance. You will collaborate closely with managers and the finance team to optimize financial reporting and finance deadlines.
Professional Responsibilities: Financial Management: Collaborate with manager on the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and balance sheet workpapers. Prepare weekly reporting on cash applications and trend analysis for management. Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and report findings to the Manager. Collaborate with auditing team during the annual audit process. General Ledger and Accounts: Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and up-to-date recording of all financial transactions. Preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and collections. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in accounting and financial reporting standards. Implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets. Collaborate with tax team for partnership tax filings. Manage the reconciliation and compliance of 1099s through the annual IRS filing. Team Management and Leadership: On-site liaison between Western Competition's President and Manager. Provide on-site guidance and training to the Western Competition's accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Assist in recruiting and hiring accounting personnel when necessary. Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial regulations. Proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data. Advanced proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and team management skills.
