Position: Our Blood Institute is committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations and strive to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. As we continue to expand our services, we are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Scheduling, Equipment, and Supply Specialist with the additional responsibility of serving as a Backup Phlebotomist. The Scheduling, Equipment, and Supply Specialist / Backup Phlebotomist will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our mobile team by managing scheduling activities, coordinating equipment and supply usage, and serving as a backup phlebotomist when needed. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to provide MVR with zero points and no moving/traffic violations in the past 3 years Possesses reliable transportation Must have a working telephone Excellent customer service skills Good verbal and written communication skills Flexibility to work unscheduled hours as needed Unrestricted lifting abilities Professional manner and appearance Basic computer knowledge Detail oriented in regards to document review Ability to work at a fast pace Ability to work in a team Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures (SOP's) Ability to write in a legible manner Previous experience in scheduling, logistics, equipment and supply management, and phlebotomy preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations Primary Responsibilities: Scheduling Management: Develop and maintain schedules for blood drives, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources. Coordinate with recruitment, management, and front line staff to schedule blood drives and training in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Monitor schedule changes and adjust staffing and resources as needed to accommodate fluctuations in demand or circumstances. Equipment Coordination: Manage the inventory of equipment, including tracking availability, usage, and maintenance schedules. Coordinate the allocation of equipment to various setups, ensuring timely delivery and proper functioning. Collaborate with vendors or suppliers to procure necessary equipment, maintenance, or repair. Supply Management: Assess inventory levels of supplies and initiate orders to replenish stock as needed. Research suppliers, obtain quotes, and place orders for supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Coordinate with finance departments and management to process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of supply transactions. Backup Phlebotomist: Serve as a backup phlebotomist when needed in the centers or on a mobile drive. Maintain working knowledge of applicable DS Procedures and Policies. Perform all duties outlined in Donor Services Standard Operating Procedures to include but not limited to registration, vitals, medical screening (both manual and Donor ID), phlebotomy, heat sealing, equipment QC, and record keeping duties associated with WB and testing services. Strictly adhere to all SOP's ensuring all blood products are collected within the quality standards set forth by regulatory agencies including the FDA. Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns when issues arise related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues or equipment performance. Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions. Provide excellent customer service; Educate donors on blood fact information such as donation frequency, need for blood products, etc. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations. Develop and implement protocols for equipment usage and maintenance to optimize performance and longevity. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance donor care and operational efficiency. Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between staff, management, and donor recruitment to coordinate scheduling activities, equipment and supply needs, and phlebotomy needs. Communicate effectively with management to schedule staff and resources, and address any concerns or questions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate blood drive success and ensure a seamless experience for donors. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
