Responsibilities Design high performance mechatronic systems for robotic manipulation and locomotion Perform rigorous experimental testing of groundbreaking robotic systems Model complex phenomena uncovered during experimentation and communicate results Requirements BS and MS in electrical/mechanical/aerospace engineering, experimental physics, or a related field 5+ years of experience developing robotic systems, high-performance vehicles, or scientific instruments Rigorous background in linear algebra and geometry - preferably also classical dynamics Proficiency with scientific computation, e.g. Matlab, Scipy/Numpy, Julia, Eigen Bonus Strong technical writing skills Machine design experience Mechanism theory and synthesis skills Fabrication (or DFM) of scientific instruments Mechatronics and power electronics experience PhD in engineering or physical science Experience with feedback control systems Background in experiment design We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
