The Houston Recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies and practices to source, attract, screen, recruit, and select students for upcoming NEMSA classes, qualified EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics.
Primary responsibilities include: Recruit and screen candidates for openings and upcoming NEMSA classes  Provide realistic job preview to potential applicants, including specific job and company information, compensation & benefits, working conditions, and expectations Communicate job offers and rejections to candidates Attend job fairs, trade shows, and conferences to source leads Assist with coordinating various recruitment activities Work closely with Operations Management to determine current and future staffing needs Maintain daily and weekly reports of contacts, interviews, and job offers Adhere to an established hiring process in compliance with applicable laws  The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: Recruiting experience preferred Minimum of one year of previous medical or human resources experience Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Written skills include the ability to write memos, letters, advertisements, and other correspondence. Verbal skills include the ability to speak to large groups of people making presentations, excellent telephone skills, and good interpersonal skills for in-depth face-to-face interviewing. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize openings Ability to work independently and in teams Ability to travel frequently Willingness to work extra time as required by the demands of the job Ability to read, understand, and apply concepts relating to employment law, screening techniques, and personnel recruitment techniques EMT certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 18 months of employment All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
