Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for Seeking Perfection in the quality of EBWE's products to Make Our Customers Successful by meeting or exceeding customer expectations and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products in a Lean Environment. Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection. Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures such as FPY, FTQ, PPM Assist in process certification and validation. Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans. Review suppliers purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements. Lead internal and external quality audits including, but not limited to IATF, ISO, FEMR, for ISO 9000 compliance. Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented. Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities. Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses. Knowledge and ability to learn use of test equipment including AOI, SPI, Vision systems, CMM. Travel Required Requirements:
Education/ Experience: Associates Degree in mechanical, electrical or manufacturing Engineering with a combination of work experience &/ Quality Certification (ASQ) Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent preferred Minimum 3 years' experience in Quality Assurance in a Lean Manufacturing environment Automotive industry background preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPS, A3, APQP, PPAP and 8D process. Understanding of IPC standards for Electronic Manufacturing Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases. General Safety. Electrostatic Discharge Awareness. Foreign Object Damage Awareness.
